General Statement of Duties: The Government Grants Administrator will be a key member of the Operations team, overseeing interdepartmental coordination, relevant writing, and reporting of governmental grants for YWCA Columbus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess potential grant funding opportunities from government entities and other sources, evaluating feasibility based on organizational data and reporting requirements.
- Maintain the grants and data reporting calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met for proposals, compliance reports, and program data submissions.
- Develop clear and concise proposals, reports, and letters of inquiry, incorporating budget projections and accountability/evaluation requirements.
- Manage a portfolio of government grants supporting housing, shelter, and education programs.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to gather required information and assist with relevant audit needs.
- Utilize program outcome software, Excel, and other tools to track grant-related data and outcomes.
Performance Expectations:
- Ensure all grant applications, reports, and compliance documents are submitted on time and meet funder requirements.
- Maintain accurate tracking charts and records of grant correspondence with internal and external partners.
- Effectively synthesize complex information into well-structured and compelling grant materials.
- Proactively communicate with program staff to collect necessary data ahead of deadlines.
- Demonstrate attention to detail in data collection and reporting, ensuring alignment with grantor expectations.
- Continuously assess and improve grant management processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Education: College degree in public administration, finance, political science, or nonprofit management preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience managing grants(government, nonprofit or corporate) and working with grant compliance, reporting, and auditing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be computer proficient and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and with a diverse team of both internal and external customers, volunteers, and staff. High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
